When Bryce arrived this morning he needed some time before starting work because he said he was mad at the bus driver and he was also mad about arguing with a family member. He had difficulty letting go of the frustrations about his bus ride home from school.
After he vented his feelings and had a snack he went to his desk. He worked for awhile with staff to complete some science. After a break he wrote a few sentences for a writing assignment but struggled to write more.
He would not engage in reading today saying he was too tired.
Bryce had lunch at 11:00 with two staff that Bryce invited eat with him.
He had good discussions and when it was time to work at 11:30, Bryce started talking and saying what would happen if he started a fight. We talked about the consequences and tried to redirect Bryce and help him to focus on a positive task. He did not want a walk or alternative activity. He became more agitated and less receptive to staff help regulate.
Bryce went home early this afternoon.
