Eli came in looking like he was feeling angry. At first he did not respond to staff and peers' greetings of hello. He went to his desk and put his hat over his eyes. It took Eli two hours today before he was ready to engage in academics. He responded to staff during check-ins during the first two hours but said he was not ready to work.
Later, Eli told staff he was able to work and with support he got started on his math assignment. Eli asked some good questions while working and completed math and started a science lesson before leaving today. Eli said, "Thank you for respecting me" before he left.
