Ashton had a good first hour of his day. He walked with staff and a peer and participated in music class. Although he was a bit disruptive in music class, he has not previously participated in music , so this was a good first step this year.
After the first hour of the day, Ashton worked for 15 minutes and then put his head down and refused to work, despite offer of assistance. Ashton slept for over an hour. When he woke he said he is not going to do any work and told the teacher several different times throughout the morning to shut up.
He was rude and said hurtful comments to a student. Ashton wandered about the classroom, refused to return to his work space and was banging on a nearby door with his foot where a staff and student were having a discussion. Ashton did not return his homework assignment from yesterday.
Staff requested to talk with parent later today (text message sent early afternoon).
