Eli came into school with clenched hands and a look on his face that suggested anger. He went straight to his desk.
Staff gave him some time to transition and then checked in visually. He said "don't." Staff responded that she wanted to make sure he had what he needs and then stepped away. Eli broke his usual work pattern. He usually completes math and reading right away. Today he slept for an hour, woke up and completed math and reading and then went back to sleep until almost 12:00. He then requested help on his science lessons.
