| Comments | Philomena was happy to see a classmate who was unable to attend school yesterday. She greeted the student and told her she was happy she was here today. Philomena and the student read a fiction article today with staff and worked through a comprehension sheet. There was good participation through interactive discussion. Philomena also seems to be enjoying a teacher read aloud with another student and participates in discussions. She is working on making predictions about what will happen next and what a chapter might be about as it relates to the chapter titles. Philomena is developing strategies to learn new vocabulary while reading. Today she worked on using context surrounding an unfamiliar word to understand its meaning. |
