Hunter came to school irritable upon arrival. He was sick this week with an ear infection and was still feeling under the weather. Hunter drew on his desk with a pencil. He was given a wipe to clean it off and he did so right away. Hunter was also given paper to draw on which he did for a minute but then crumpled it up and threw it on the floor. Hunter's caseworker was here today for support. Hunter was disrespectful and short tempered. He shouted that staff could not be near him because he is sick.
Hunter did get started on his math and complained the first sheet was too easy and refused it and said he would try a multiplication sheet. Hunter asked for a calculator. He was offered help from staff and given a multiplication chart to use as needed. He refused help and refused the chart. Hunter continued to get louder and more agitated. He was offered fidgets, lemon squeezes and water by his caseworker but refused all. He said he would go to the quiet, calm area he likes to work in. Hunter was talking loudly to his caseworker and was complaining in the quiet room. He was having much difficulty regulating and was more defiant. He did ask for a book at one time but did not read it or look through the book.
Grandma came to get Hunter at 10:00.
