Ashton has been sick this week. He had a slow start to his morning so mom brought him in at 9:40. He did go for a walk with staff but then when he returned he put his head down and slept. At 11:40 he picked his head up and said he was not feeling well. I asked if he wanted something to eat and he asked for his granola bars which I keep in a locked cabinet for him. A student offered to deliver the granola bars to Ashton and I let him. Ashton did not use words but became highly agitated. He pushed furniture and would not respond when verbally asked what he needed. Ashton then picked up a piece of furniture and smashed it on the ground which caused it to break into pieces. Ashton was taken home at 12:20 today. Daily assignments were sent home with him.
On the ride home Ashton said that he didn't like it that the boy had touched his granola bars. A discussion was had about using his words to talk to me about the issue and he had plenty of other granola bars in his box that I could have given to him.
