Bryce arrived at school and was appropriate and appeared calm and relaxed. He had lunch when he arrived and was given time to talk to students from the other class. When it was time to transition to work, Bryce wandered and avoided his work, even though he receives one-to one assistance on his assignments as needed. Over the course of the afternoon, Bryce was offered options of where to work, offered preferred seating, choices of what to work on first, offered movement breaks and walks, he refused all. He did not complete any work today. Breana, Bryce's caseworker, came today and at first he said he would not work with her but she took him for a short walk and then worked on some art with Bryce. Bryce packed up his belongings early and wanted to hang out and talk and started wandering. Other students were finishing up their work and organizing their desk areas. Bryce went to talk to a teacher who was finishing some work. I asked Bryce to wait until staff was finished with the task. Bryce got very angry with the request. He yelled, swore, kicked desks and chairs, made threatening and rude comments and slammed doors. A staff member followed him outside and asked him help her take something to the trash for a walk. When he returned after the short walk, Bryce was still very angry when his ride arrived to take him home. I talked to Lee, Bryce's dad, who was on his way home form work to let him know about the end of his day.
