Zach had a difficult first hour of the day. When asked for his phone this morning he said he did not have it. Five minutes later he sat at his desk and texted and watched videos. Zach would not give me his phone when requested. After a minute to give him a chance to comply he refused and continued to watch videos and text. After 10 minutes he gave me his phone and as soon as it was put in the office for safe keeping he said he wanted to call his mom. He said send me home. I don't want to be here today. I told him I would text his mom. Zach wandered the room, threw an uncapped glue stick at the ceiling for a few minutes and said if I ramp it up I will get to go home. Space given to Zach and minimal talking only brief prompts and responded when Zach talked to me. Walk, fresh air, snack, offered but Zach did not want anything offered. Zach’s mom talked to him on the phone. He told his mom that he didn't take his meds this morning. After talking to mom, Zach asked for a snack stating that he was hungry. He ate a big snack and said he didn't sleep well last night. Zach got back on track after his snack.
Zach was cooperative, compliant and productive the rest of the day. He was in good spirits when he left.
