Bryce came to school frustrated about his morning ride to school (different am driver this week). He had some time to calm down with an activity and then had lunch. We celebrated a student's birthday today and when he felt a bit overwhelmed while we were having cake he communicated that he needed to go back to the classroom while we were finishing up the lunch hour.
Bryce was agitated when school work was mentioned today. He complained of being very tired and had a very stuffy nose. He did not want to work but when given breaks to have some quiet time he became agitated as well. This afternoon, Bryce got highly agitated and he swore, kicked two garbage cans over (denting one), kicked the door and broke the door jam (it can be fixed with hammer and nails), and stormed outside. Bryce and staff talked and he felt calmer and he went into the classroom and apologized for his actions. Bryce shared that he hurt his left ankle at home over the weekend and that it still hurts him. He was encouraged to elevate it and was given an ice pack but he only rested it for a short time as he said he was ready to organize his things for the end of the day.
