There was some confusion of where Ashton was going to work at the start of the day. He questioned what staff had told him. He did so respectfully and staff agreed with him that he might be correct and would check. Ashton was then asked to step outside of the class room so that we could talk in private as a music lesson was about to begin. Ashton was frustrated when he had to step outside even though he was assured it was for privacy. Ashton would not participate in a conversation and closed his eyes. He then walked away and off the property. Staff (Dianna) followed him via vehicle to ensure safety. Ashton's mom was notified to let her know of the situation. When Ashton tired of walking he got in Dianna's vehicle and came back to school. Ashton apologized upon his return. He talked with staff for a while, had a snack and a water and then accepted offer of help to get started on his work. Ashton was able to work for about 90 minutes, with a few breaks during that time. Ashton stated he couldn't work any more today. He was showing signs of being anxious and overwhelmed. He took a break and accepted some help in calming himself until it was time for dismissal.
