Philomena greeted staff this morning and one of her classmates upon arrival. She enjoys reading books she brings from home and likes to start to her day with some independent silent reading time. It can sometimes be difficult for her to set her books aside to start her math lesson.
As some of the students are out on field trips this week to start the school year, she seems to enjoy the extra calm and quiet.
Philomena has good retention of math concepts she had been working on last spring as evidenced by review this week. She is working toward fluency for addition and subtraction facts and improving skills in solving basic one and two step word problems this week.
