When he arrived today, Ashton had appropriate and positive conversation with staff.
At first he agreed to walk with others but because he had to wait 5 minutes for the others to get ready he refused to walk. Ashton lay under the table in his work space from 9:30-10:30.
He talked to staff and stated that he was having a bad day and that he did not want to be at school. He was frustrated about not getting something from Amazon that he was waiting for and that seemed to preoccupy his thoughts.
Ashton wandered about but was unable to sit at his desk to work.
At one point Ashton was becoming agitated and was offered choices such as go for a walk, sit outside in the warm weather, work with staff. Ashton said he just wanted to go home.
He had about an hour left of his school day left.
The art teacher arrived and engaged Ashton in conversation about bridges. (the project for today). He had some interest and said he would like to try attending the class. Ashton sat near a student and engaged in off topic conversation. He had some interest in the lesson and contributed an idea, but then lost interest. He chased another student (not in anger) and left the room. Staff had Ashton return to his area. He then waited outside for his transportation (15 min) with staff.
