Hunter arrived at 8:55 and departed at 11:05.
He said that he would not work at all today because he did not take his medication this morning. All of his subjects offered and 1:1 support available. He asked the teacher to leave him alone. (cam voice, quiet volume). He would not engage in academic tasks and was given some space and time to regroup. He was calm and in control and stepped outside with his coat on.
Staff had him step inside due to cold and offered an alternative work space. Hunter asked if he could work on reading and take math home.
At 10:20 Hunter asked for us to call his aunt as he wanted to go home. We talked to him about doing a good job staying calm and in control and he needed some more time in school and then we would call his aunt.
He asked several times but had some good conversations (distraction) during the time between 10:30-10:50. At 10:50 Hunter walked outside, without permission, to go look for his aunt. He was instructed to return to the building and aunt would be called to come get him. He refused and found aunt in the lower lot and got in her car.
Aunt drove up to the upper lot and checked in with the staff. She was told he didn't have permission to get into the car.
Staff talked to Hunter about dismissal time (11:30) and to plan to stay until 11:30 next week. Hunter agreed to try.
