Ashton walked with staff and students this morning.
He did not complete any work today. He said he was having a bad day and didn't know why he felt bad. He sat with his jacket over his head. When offered help he refused. He did not want to walk, go outside, use the exercise bike or other strategies. He did have a snack and declined offer of water.
At about 10:45 Ashton left the classroom without permission.
Ashton sat in a chair with his jacket over his head and would not return to his classroom. After 5 minutes he returned to his classroom with his teacher and sat down. Ashton was offered a walk to help him feel better but he refused. Ashton left his area to go into the kitchen where other students were eating. Since it was not his time to eat he was asked to return to his desk, as his lunch time was next. Ashton asked to go home a couple of times saying he wasn't having a good day.
He refused help to wait for his ride which would arrive in 90 minutes. He became agitated and swore at the teacher. Ashton's mom gave staff permission to take him home early.
When his teacher was getting his phone and cap from the office he walked to the kitchen door and banged on it hard enough to split some of the wood on the door jamb. Ashton got into the car to go home without further issues.
